The Dynamic Duo drum & bugle corps was formed in February of 1967 through a merger between the Purple Lancers of Auburn and the Shamrocks of Shortsville.

The corps’ first appearance was on April 1^st in the “Spring Festival of Drum Corps” concert held in Manchester, a suburb of Shortsville, and competed regionally including an 8^th place finish in the New York American Legion state contest and traveled to the World Open “Class A” preliminaries, placing 22^nd.

They disbanded in 1968, and the Purple Lancers eventually reorganized.
