The Elks Trojans drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1965 as part of the Nashua Lodge of Elks diversified Youth Program and a feeder corps for the Spartans.
In 1966, the 55-member corps, sporting a blue and white uniform, entered the field of competition as members of the NH Open “Class C” circuit. Their uniforms were blue and white. The following year, the Trojans were crowned the 1967 VFW State and All-American circuit “Class C” champions and placed 3rd in the Mayflower “Class C” championships.
In 1968, the corps repeated as the “Class C” All-American circuit champions and finished 2nd in the Eastern Massachusetts (E-Mass) circuit. In 1969, the corps moved up to the “Class B” division of the All-American circuit and placed 3rd in the E-Mass “Class C” contest. The next three seasons saw the corps finish as runner-up in 1970, missing out in the qualifying in 1971 and successfully returning as bridesmaid once again in 1972.
After 4th and 3rd place finishes in E-Mass competition in 1973 and 1974 respectively, the Elks Trojans remained successfully competitive in the E-Mass “Class C” circuit from 1975 to 1977.
In 1978, the corps was disbanded and the membership was fused as part of the Spartans unit.
