The Colibris drum and bugle corps was originally formed as a drum and trumpet corps.
They competed as members of the FAMQ “Trumpet Class” until 1979, when the unit converted to a drum and bugle corps, under the direction of Marcel Therrien. That year, the corps was a finalist at both the “Circuit des Corps Musicaux du Québec” (CCMQ), placing 5th in the “Class B” division and 6th at the FAMQ “Class B” championships.
The following year, the Colibris traveled to the World Open “Class B” contest, where they placed 4th in the finals, finishing 11th at the Canadian Nationals in the “Open Class” division and 8th at the FAMQ “Open Class” championships.
The drum corps disbanded in 1981, but a competitive guard operated for a few years later.
