The Coachmen drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1976 by Russell C. Jacobs Jr. as a self-supporting organization.
The corps began its journey as a parade unit and became members of the Greater New England (GNE) circuit, initially competing in the “Class C” division, where they placed 10th at the 1979 championships. Their colours were green and black.
The following year saw the Coachmen move up to the “Class B” division, finishing 5th at the 1980 GNE contest. In 1981, the corps joined the Eastern Massachusetts circuit, placing 8th in “Class C” competition. Over the years, their staff included John Curran on brass, Vic Kulenski on percussion and Bob Florentino on visual.
They disbanded in 1982.
