The Clique Alouette “Senior” drum and bugle corps was formed in 1974 when several past members of the celebrated “Junior” corps organized an alumni, supported by the Patro Laval.
From 1974 to 1977, the Clique participated in a few parades, including the famous Québec Carnival in 1976 and 1977, before reorganizing as a field competitive corps. They competed in the FAMQ circuit, placing 2nd in the 1978 championships.
The following season, the corps became members of the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) circuit, earning a finalist position in their first year, placing 9th in 1979 and repeated in the 1980 DCA finals with a 10th place finish. That same year, the corps became the Alouette, dissolving their relationship with the Patro and simply became known as the “Alouette” from Ste. Foy.
Unable to participate in the competitive scene in 1981, they remained active as a parade and exhibition group, returning to the DCA circuit, finishing 13th in the 1982 preliminaries. As per their roots, the corps once again restructured as a “Junior” corps and the “Senior” unit went inactive.
In 2008, a group of alumni reconnected and began a planning process that would lead to the reformation of the Alouette alumni. Their first public appearance was held in 2010 and the corps was revived as a parade and exhibition unit, converting to a musical ensemble in 2024.
