The Crusaders drum & bugle corps was formed in 1961 by Cliff Hermel and was sponsored the William R. Witty American Legion (AL) Post 37 and VFW Post 1220. The corps’ colors were black and white, entering the field of competition, placing 3^rd in the 1962 AL state convention and competed throughout the Midwest until 1967.

They disbanded in 1968.
