The Dynamic Royalaires drum & bugle corps was formed in 1978 through a merger between the Dynamics of Oradell and the Royalaires of Paterson, under the co-leadership of Peter Ewald of the Dynamics and John Van Etveldt of the Royalaires.
The corps competed extensively that season both nationally, with preliminary appearances in the US “Class A” (17th) & World Open “Class B” (19th) championships followed by the Garden State Circuit & New Jersey American Legion state championships, placing 7th and 10th respectively. They also captured the Metro All-American circuit title.
In 1979, they merged with the Imperial Knights of Midland Park to form Fantasia III.
