The Blue Angels drum and bugle corps was first organized in 1967 by Bill and Alice Boyland along with Harry Boyland and sponsored by Our Lady of Angels parish.
From 1967 to 1969, the corps moved up the ranks marching in parades and competing in standstill contests. In 1970, the Blue Angels performed in two exhibitions and competed in their first contest. In 1971, the corps entered into their first full year of competition in the Long Island circuit. They also hosted the first annual "Music Under the Bridge".
In 1972, the Blue Angels continued their progress, finishing third in the Long Island circuit and in 1973, joined the Greater New York circuit, stepping up to the tougher competition that proved rewarding as the corps won the Long Island circuit championships.
The Blue Angels 1974 season brought the corps another championship in the Long Island circuit and they also participated in the Pathfinder circuit. In 1975, they competed in the Garden State and Eastern States circuits. With many of its' veteran members reaching the age of 21, the corps disbanded in 1976.
