The Cardinal Cadets drum & bugle corps was originally formed in the fall of 1976 as the Precious Blood Cadets, a feeder corps for the Cardinals of Precious Blood.
They competed at the Canadian Nationals in the “Junior E” division in 1977, placing 3rd and the 1998 “Bantam Class”, also ranking 3rd. In 1979, the corps was crowned the Canadian National “Junior Cadet” champions and competed at the 1980 DCI Canada “Cadet Class” championships, finishing 5th along with a 6th place finish at the Ontario “Class C” provincial contest. The instructional staff was mostly composed of marching members of the Cardinals.
In 1981, they participated in ODCA and Great Lakes regional competitions before reorganizing as the Cardinals in 1982.
