The Belltones drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1957 by Ross W. Baker, a successful “self-taught” Brantford businessman, known for his creativity and drum major for the corps.
In October of 1958, they sponsored their first annual “Youth on the March” pageant, that later evolving into the “Music by Moonlight” , an International Junior Open competition. At the 1958 Canadian Nationals, the corps finished 2nd in the “Novice Class” and were crowned the 1960 Canadian National “Standstill” champions.
In 1961, the corps entered the field of competition in the Canadian Nationals’ “Class B” division, placing 2nd in 1961, along with a first place finish at the Ontario Provincial "Junior B" championships. At the Canadian Nationals "Class B" championships, they finished 5th in 1962, back to 2nd in 1963 and finally 5th in their last year of competition. In the fall of 1964, the corps reorganized as the Belltones Majestic Knights but went temporarily inactive as they didn’t have a facility to rehearse.
The Majestic Knights resumed activities in 1966 as a parade corps before disbanding in 1967.
