Cavaliers

The Cavaliers drum & bugle corps was formed in February 1962 and sponsored by the Malden VFW Post 639, under the direction of Harvey H. Whitney.

The corps, whose uniforms were formerly worn by the St. Vincent’s Cadets of Bayonne, performed as a parade and exhibition unit in their inaugural season, participating in the VFW state parade and were the declared the VFW state champions, winning the title in 1963 and 1964. They also finished 2^nd in the 1963 Mayflower “Class A” circuit championships.

In 1965, they disbanded and many of its members joined up with the IC Reveries, who almost doubled in size that season.
