The Bonnie Sloan Sons of American Legion Post 28 of New Albany was founded in 1935 as an extension of the senior corps.
The corps was crowned the 1935 state champions in their inaugural year and defended their title the following season. From 1937 to 1941, the corps remained active, primarily performing in parades and community events, with occasional appearances at the state championships.
They disbanded in 1941.
