The following year, the Colibris converted to a drum and bugle corps, under the direction of Marcel Therrien. That year, the corps was a finalist at both the 1979 “Circuit des Corps Musicaux du Québec” (CCMQ), placing 5th in the “Class B” division and 6th at the FAMQ “Class B” championships.
The next season, the corps traveled to the 1980 World Open “Class B” contest, where they placed 4th in the finals, finishing 11th at the Canadian Nationals in the “Open Class” division and 8th at the FAMQ “Open Class” championships.
They disbanded in 1981, but a competitive guard operated for a few years later.
