The Étoiles d’Or drum & bugle corps was originally founded in 1967 as a majorette corps from Ste. Dorothée.

Over the years, the corps evolved into a parade unit and incorporated as a ‘not for profit” organization in 1976. The Laval unit progressed with several appearances and gained tremendous experience in Québec, Ontario and the Northeastern United States. They entered the field of competition in the Class “C” division of the FAMQ circuit in 1979 and would rank as a finalist over the next 4 years, including two 2nd place finishes (1980 & 1982), one 3rd in 1981 and a 5th position in 1979.

In 1983, the corps expanded their competitive opportunities, joining the Drum Corps East (DCE) “Class A” division, placing in 7th position and moved up to the FAMQ “Class A” category, where they placed 2nd in the finals. The 1984 season was a rebuilding year for the group as they placed 2nd in the FAMQ “Class B” finals and successfully returned to the 1985 DCE “Class A/60” preliminaries, finishing 4th and was crowned the DCI Canada “Class A/60” champions, culminating once again with a 2nd place in the FAMQ “Class B” finals.

The corps disbanded in 1986.
