The Golden Marauders drum and bugle corps was originally formed in 1975 as the Golden Eagles of Port Henry, under the direction of Robert "Lynx" Burlingame.

The group grew out of a pre-existing senior drum corps of the same name and Burlingame was the inspiration for the change to a junior corps; he felt that there was a large teenaged population in town with nothing to do, and a drum corps was the perfect way to involve them in a worthwhile activity.

The Eagles joined the newly formed 1975 Upstate New York circuit, where they placed 5th and the following season was renamed the Golden Marauders, once again finishing in 5th position in the 1976 Upstate contest, competing in the 1977 Upstate “Class B” division and placing 6th the following year.

In 1979, the corps converted to parade status before returning one last time to field competition, finishing in 4th position in the 1980 Upstate circuit and winning the New York State Legion “Class B” title. The Marauders continued as a parade corps from 1981 to 1985.

They disbanded in 1986 due to a lack of membership.
