The Celtic Cadets was organized in 1965 by Roland “Buddy” and Bette Burns who also served as corps directors.
In August 1965, the corps sponsored a dance to help raise funds for equipment and uniforms and became active as a parade and exhibition unit their first two seasons, performing both locally and regionally. They also organized a competitive winter guard.
In 1968, the corps entered the field of competition, albeit brief, participating in the World Open “Class B” preliminaries, placing 21st. They returned to parade status over the balance of their existence.
They disbanded in 1973.
