The Fort Edward Sons of American Legion (AL) Squadron Post 1133 was formed on October 10th, 1935, under the direction of Dewey Miller.

The corps made their initial appearance in the 1936 Fort Edward Memorial Day parade and entered the field of competition in the 1937 New York AL state convention, placing 5th in the “Class A” division, followed by 4th position in the 1938 SAL state “Class A” championships, 8th overall. The Squadron Post 1133 competed as members of the Interstate circuit and finished their field competition with 3rd & 2nd place finishes in the 1940 & 1941 AL state  “Class B” division contests respectively. In August of 1948, the corps reorganized as the Andrew J. Shelley Memorial Legion Post 1133 as a parade unit.

They disbanded in 1950.
