The Grey Knights drum & bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1985 as a parade unit in Johnsonburg.

The corps was active from 1986 to 1989, entertaining locally and regionally in parades and exhibitions and reorganized in 1990 as a field competitive group. They competed in the 1991 DCA preliminaries, placing 17th and returned to regional competition for the 1992 season.

After 3 years of inactivity, the Grey Knights relocated to St. Mary’s and competed in the DCA championships from 1996 to 1998, finishing 15th in the 1996 preliminary round, followed by 3rd & 4th place finishes in the 1997 & 1998 “Class A” contests. The corps regrouped as an exhibition and parade corps in 1999, remaining active until 2006.

After once again going inactive between 2007 & 2009, the Knights re-activated as a parade corps from 2010 to 2019.

They disbanded in 2020.
