The Fletcher Raiders drum and bugle corps was formed in 1938 as the Robert O. Fletcher American Legion (AL) Post 4 of Norwich.
The corps was primarily active as a parade and exhibition group until 1956, when the Norwich Post reorganized as a competitive unit, often participating in the Connecticut AL state championships, placing 5th in 1957 and 3rd in 1961. The Raiders were also crowned the 1960 and 1962 parade champions, performing in field competition for one final season in 1963.
They disbanded in 1964.
