The Charles C. Weybrecht American Legion (AL) Post 166 drum and bulge corps of Alliance was formed in February of 1931.

They entered the field of competition in 1931 in the Ohio Legion state convention, placing 12th in the preliminaries the following season. The next 2 years saw the corps earn a finalist spot in the state contest with finishes of 6th 1934 and 8th in 1935, remaining a finalist for the balance of their competitive years. The Alliance Post competed for the first time in the 1936 AL Nationals, where they finished in 27th position in the prelims, returning in 1937 to a 38th place finish. Meanwhile in state competition, the corps placed 6th and 5th respectively those two seasons.

In 1938, the green-coated and white trousered unit moved up to a 4th place ranking in the OH AL state championships and competed in the 1939 AL Nationals, with their strongest showing, a 22nd place finish in the prelims. They capped off the year placing 5th in the Legion state, improving to the “Top 3” in the 1940 state convention, repeating their 3rd place feat the following season. The Weybrecht Post participated one last time in the 1941 AL Nationals where they finished in 24th in the prelims. With the onset of World War II, the corps remained active until 1943.

They disbanded in 1944.
