The Diplomats drum and bugle corps was formed in 1967 as a feeder unit for the Seattle Imperials, under the leadership of Bob Kurimoto.
The group was originally a parade corps until 1970 as members moved up to the Imperials in 1971 and the organization went inactive through to 1979. Re-activated in 1980, the Diplomats competed in the Washington Legion State convention, placing 4th in the “Class B” division.
The corps competed for only one season.
