The Éclipses of Clermont drum and bugle corps was originally formed in the mid-1960’s by the municipality’s Parish Guard, a catholic movement with religious, social and military objectives, as the Cadets of Clermont parade unit.
In the 1970’s, the corps reorganized as a coed group, under their new name, the Éclipses, sporting a gendarme-style jacket, a frilly white shirt with a Scottish-style helmet for the boys and a red and black dress with white boots for the girls. They continued to entertain locally and regionally over the years until 1984, when they participated in field competition in FAMQ “Class C” contests, reverting to parade status the following season.
In the later 1980’s, the corps regrouped once again as the Draveurs parade and exhibition corps.
