The Excelsiors drum and bugle corps may have been formed in 1963 and was sponsored by the Marquette Club Inc., a popular snowshoe club in Lachine, under the leader ship Mr. Diotte.
They entered the field of competition in 1964 and the organization adopted its founder’s name, the Marquette drum corps in 1968, as a parade unit.
