The Baladins drum and bugle corps was originally a drum and trumpet corps that converted in the fall of 1980 to bugles. They were members of the FAMQ circuit.

In their first two seasons, they performed as a parade and exhibition corps, fielding competitively in 1983 with a 4th place finish in the FAMQ “Class C” division. In September of 1983, the corps merged with a local parade corps, the Amazones of St. Jean, who had been inactive for the last few years, to form Horizon.

The corps only lasted one season and disbanded in 1985. The Baladins reorganized in the fall of 1986 and returned to activity in 1987 and 1988. In 1989, they re-entered the field of competition after a 6 year absence and won the FAMQ “Class C” championships in their first season back.

The corps moved up to the “Class B” division the following year, finishing 5th in the prelims and improved to 2nd place at the 1991 “Class B” championships. In their final season of competition, the St. Luc unit returned to the “Class C” category, placing 4th.

The corps disbanded in 1993.
