The Arthur L. Peterson American Legion (AL) Post 47 drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1926 under the leadership of Edward L. Couron.
The corps, attired in their two-toned blue uniforms, topped with nickeled helmets, placed 3rd in the 1927 state convention and was crowned the 1928 & 1929 state champions. They also competed in the 1929 AL Nationals, placing in 7th position. The following season, the Peterson Post finished in 2nd place in the Legion contest, hosting the 1931 State convention. From 1932 to 1935, the unit remained active, participating in parade and field competitions over that span. The corps has also performed in the famous Tournament of Roses parade.
They disbanded in 1936.
