The Falcons drum and bugle corps was originally organized in the summer of 1958 as the Satan’s Angels of the Bangor high school and was sponsored by the American Legion (AL) Post 40 of Bangor, under the executive direction of principal C. W. Kruenen.
After their initial season of activity in the fall of 1958, the unit was renamed the Falcons due to concerns by a group of Bangor citizens about the diabolical implications. The corps entered the field of competition the following year, under the direction of Richard Davis and Paul De Long, participating in the 1959 Wisconsin AL state convention, placing 2nd in the “Class B” division and the AL Nationals, where the group finished in 21st position in the preliminary round. The Falcons remained active as a parade unit in their final year.
They disbanded in 1961.
