The Blue Knights drum and bugle corps was originally formed in June of 1923 as the Earl Faulkner American Legion (AL) Post 6 of Everett.
Out of the gate, the corps entered the field of competition in 1923, in their new leather leggings, brown uniforms and Sam Brown belts, participating in the state championships and the AL Nationals, placing 5th in San Francisco, returning in 1924 in St. Paul and 1925 in Omaha. The following season, the corps placed 2nd at the 1926 state convention and competed in the 1927 state show. The corps won the 1928 state parade competition and resumed state competition in the 1929 preliminaries and finished 6th in 1930 and 4th in 1931. They would compete in their final AL Nationals in the 1932 prelims.
In 1933, the Faulkner Post hosted the state convention in Everett, finishing in 4th place in 1934 and performed in the 1935 state prelims before going back to parade status over the next three years. From 1939 to 1945, the corps went inactive but slowly reorganized in 1946, the entire membership consisting of 1 horn player and 1 drummer the first half of the year. They did manage to form a complete unit and competed at the state convention, placing 5th the following season.
After a year of regrouping, the corps would go on to represent the Everett community at state competitions for the next 19 years. In 1958, the Faulkner Post was renamed the Blue Knights, with their new colors of red, white and blue, as they pursued state convention contests that included three 2nd place finishes in 1957, 1962 and 1963 and the prestigious Legion state title from 1964 to 1967. The Blue Knights also had a wives auxiliary unit called the Blue Knightees.
They disbanded in 1968.
