The Continentals drum and bugle corps was organized in 1965 under the direction of Alfred J. Carnes.
After their first season as a parade and exhibition unit, the corps entered the field of “Class C” competition as members of both the Eastern Massachusetts (E-Mass) and Mayflower circuits, placing 3rd in the 1968 E-Mass “Class C” championships.
They remained active in 1969 and in early1970, the Norwood group worked out a feeder relationship with the 27th Lancers, merging with their feeder corps the Norwood Cavaliers, to form the 27th Lancers Juniors.
