Comets

The Comets “Junior” drum and bugle corps was organized in 1967 as a conversion of the “All-Age” corps.

After a year of activity that included participation in the American Legion (AL) Nationals’ parade, the Junior Comets entered the field of competition as members of the International circuit, where they were crowned the 1968 “Class C” champions. They pursued International “Class C” competition the following season, moving up to the “Class B” division of the New Hampshire chapter of the All-American circuit in 1970 and placed 3^rd in the 1971 NH All-American circuit.

In 1972, the corps ranked 5^th in the Maine AL state championships and competed in International circuit in their last year of field contests in 1973. They remained active as a parade and exhibition unit until 1976.

They disbanded in 1977.
