Aurora drum & bugle corps was formed through a merger between the 5th Maine Regiment and Northern Lites in 1980.
They competed in the CYO “Junior Class” division, earning a 9th spot finish at the circuit championships. After one season of field competition, Aurora and the Pine Tree Warriors merged to form “The Corps” in 1981.
