Décibels drum bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1990 in Bellefeuille, a suburb of St. Jérome, under the direction of Claude Bourcier, a former member of the Fantaisistes Laurentiens of. St. Jérome.

The corps’ inaugural season was performed as a parade and exhibition unit, as they entered the field of competition the following year as members of the FAMQ circuit, participating in the 1992 “Class C” championships, placing 2nd and moved up to the “Class B” division in 1993 where they finished in 4th position. Over the next two seasons, Décibels returned to “Class C” competition, placing 3rd in 1994 and 2nd in 1995 and shifted to the “Concert Class” in their last two years, placing 3rd in 1996 and 2nd in 1997.

They disbanded in 1998.
