The Faribault American Legion Post 43 was formed drum and bugle corps was formed in December of 1925 and made their first public appearance on July 5th in the Faribault sesqui-centennial celebration.

The Legion Post entered the field of competition in 1927 as a perennial contender in  Minnesota AL state conventions, placing 5th in 1927, 3rd in 1928 and was crowned the 1929 Minnesota state champions, the only time in their history they would win this title. That same year, they also participated in the AL Nationals, earning a place in the finals.

From 1930 to 1934, the corps placed as bridesmaid in the state convention championships, continuing its participation before going inactive from 1940 to 1947. The Faribault unit reorganized in 1948, placing 3rd in the Legion state championships and 6th the following year. Between 1954 to 1958, the Post 43 would once again finish in second position and in their final competitive season, placed 6th in the 1959 state convention, remaining active until 1962.

They disbanded in 1963.
