The Blue Devils drum and bugle corps was formed in 1959 by Leo Marchiolo and sponsored by the William Paul Gallagher American Legion (AL) Post 96 of Lima.
The corps performed and competed in local events in their inaugural season and sponsored their first annual 1960 “June Spectacular” as members of the 1961 Buckeye drum corps association. They finished 2nd at the OH AL state championships. The following two seasons saw the corps repeat as bridesmaid at the AL state championships and claimed the 1963 Midwest circuit title. The Blue Devils participated in competition in the 1964 Midwest circuit, finishing 4th at the AL state championships.
They disbanded in 1965.
