The Continentals drum and bugle corps was formed in the fall of 1965 by the Dukes Senior corps and sponsored by the Carlisle-Bennet American Legion Post 13 of Albuquerque.
C.E. Foster and Jake Reymore were both the manager and corps director respectively, and the juniors were under the musical direction of George B. DeFoe, representing 28 Albuquerque area public and parochial schools. In their inaugural season, the “All-Boys” unit performed in parades, entering the field of competition in 1967 as members of the Great Plains Association circuit.
The following year, the corps returned to the 1968 Great Plains championships, placing 9th and would return to parade and exhibition status in 1969. Over the years, the Albuquerque group participated in many parades including the Santa Fe Fiesta, University half-time shows, the New Mexico State Fair and the El Paso Sun Carnival.
They disbanded in 1971.
