The Freedom drum and bugle corps was formed independently in the spring of 1980 from the ashes of the Cadet Lancers of Auburn, formally sponsored by the local American Legion, under the direction of Beverly Vanacore.
After their inaugural season of parade activity, the corps entered the field of competition as members of the 1981 Drum Corps New York circuit where they placed 2nd in the “Class B” division.
They disbanded in 1982.
