Although beginning as a high-school-based unit, the Garrison finished well in DCI Class A competition in 1981 and 1982.

Organized in 1978, the Golden Garrison Drum & Bugle Corps has 90 members with an average age of 14-15. Barbara Weiss is the Executive Director and Ken Miller is the Personnel Manager. Instructors include: Drums--Dave Wallace; Horns--Chuck Whitmore; Flags--Mark Hoover; Rifles--Annette Kove; Drum Major--Jeff Clark; Guard Captain--Liz Coker; M&M--Dick Swinsick. Off the line the corps will play "Celebration," production will be "On the Town," from Times Square; concert will be "Mad Hatter,
closer will be "Children of Sanchez." The corps is sponsored by the Garrison Booster Club.
