The Ascension Boys drum and bugle corps was formed by founding director Delbert Prince, and sponsored by the Ascension Church of Minneapolis.

In 1961, they competed at the state VFW championships, placing 2^nd, returning the following year and placing 3^rd. The corps also competed at the 1962 VFW Nationals, placing 34^th.
