The Forte drum and bugle corps was born from alumni, members and staff of the former Memphis Sound drum corps in the fall of 2009, with a large influx of members and staff from the corps.
Forte reflected this by continuing on the legacy of the previous corps by using purple as the signature color, keeping the corps song 'Can't Help Fallin' in Love', as well as other traditions that helped make Memphis Sound a success on the field. Since their inception, Forte qualified as a DCI “Open Class” finalist in both 2010 & 2011, placing in 10th & 11th position, respectively. In 2012, the corps was forced to withdraw from their 2012 tour after only 3 competitions due to administrative issues.
They disbanded in 2013.
