Amboy Dukes

The Amboy Dukes drum & bugle corps was formed in 1958 and performed in parades and exhibitions in their inaugural year. 

In 1959, they entered the field of competition and finished in 3^rd position at the Yankee circuit championships in Agawam and placed 5^th at the NJ American Legion. The following season, the corps competed at the New England circuit championships in Agawam, placing 6^th, returning once again to the host Agawam under the latest name change of the circuit, then known as the Northeastern circuit, finishing in 5^th position in 1961.

In 1962, the corps enjoyed a very successful year with 2^nd place finishes at both the Northeastern and New Jersey American Legion championships. Amboy Dukes was once again a finalist at the 1963 Northeastern championships, placing 5th as well as a finalist at the World Open Senior championships, finishing 8th.They were renowned for their superb drum line.

In 1964, the Amboy Dukes were unable to field a corps and fused into the Ballantine Brewers organization.
