The Men of Brass Senior Corps was formed in February 1964 out of a merger between the McHenry Red Devils and the Skokie Indians Sr. Corps and were sponsored by the Fox River VFW Post 4600, McHenry, IL..

The Men of Brass were the 1964 Illinois State Champions of both the VFW and American Legion. Their instructors included: Truman Crawford brass instructor & arranger, Mitch Markovich percussion instructor & arranger and Dale Peters color guard instructor and guard captain.
