CORPS Photos

The Emerald Lancers drum and bugle corps was formed in January of 1963 and was originally sponsored by the Sayre Woods South Athletic Association.

Sporting their green, white, silver and red uniforms, the corps performed in parades and exhibitions through 1967, entering the field of competition the following season and participated in the 1969 National circuit championships, placing 6^thand the NJ American Legion (AL) state convention, finishing in 16^thposition.

The next year saw the corps compete in the 1970 Eastern States circuit, where they ranked 11^thand went on to the NJ AL state contests, finishing 16^th in 1970, 13^thin 1971 & 10^th in 1973. The corps traveled on a 10 day tour to Ireland in 1972 and remained field competitive that season. From 1974 to 1977, the Emerald Lancers were active in parades and exhibitions, reappearing in field competition in the 1978 Eastern States circuit, placing 14^thand the NJ AL state, 13^th.

They disbanded in 1979.
