The Falcons drum and bugle corps was formed in 1959 and sponsored by the American Legion (AL) Post 130, serving the Athena, Weston and Helix areas.
The corps entered the field of competition in 1961, placing 4th in the Oregon Legion state championships, repeating their 4th place finish the following season. In 1963, the Falcons continued their state convention presence with appearances in the 1963 (6th position) & 1964 (4th), sporting their new blue, red and white uniforms. From 1965 to 1971, the unit remained active intermittently as a parade unit and color guard.
They disbanded in 1972.
