The Californians drum and bugle parade corps was formed in 1957 and was originally known as the Orange County American Legion Post 415 of Santa Ana.

In early 1960, the corps merged with the Statesmen of Culver City to form the Culver City Imperials.

In 1963, a new senior corps was formed under the same name, the Californians of Anaheim by 3 individuals, Al Mcleod, Hugh Whelpton and Don Palinski, who marched in junior corps on the East coast and relocated to Southern California.

The corps was active that year but by 1964, these individuals had helped establish a new junior corps, the Grenadiers of Garden Grove and were involved with the infamous Anaheim Scouts.

The Californians disbanded shortly after.
